Inconel is a special type of metal that retains its properties in very high temperatures. That characteristic made it really handy a lot of places, like in planes, spacecraft and stuff. Used in things such as airplane engines or exhaust systems, and anywhere heat shields are required to work under harsh conditions. Also employed in the many chemical processing plants and oil & gas industries around the world which rely on high temperature, extreme pressure situations, for safety and security.
To be fair, Inconel has a higher temperature rating than many metals, but it will work best for temperatures within certain limits.
